We encourage you to always refer to safety activities checkpoints before planning your camp outing. The GS Safety Activity Checkpoints will advice your troop on how to prepare for the activity and the certifications required.
Some of the above mentioned activities require instructors with certification or experience. The reason for this is because these activities are of higher risk and to safeguard you from a potential accident they want you to make sure you are taking the necessary precautions to safeguard your group.
There are two ways to identify instructors. You can sign up for our Adult Outdoor Certification classes offered each spring and fall (link here) and become your own troops instructor. Or you can contact our camp registrar to receive a list of already certified instructors with the Council. Bernice Chandler at bchandler@cbgsc.org.
Once you have found the instructor you will need to fill out the Outdoor Equipment Rental Form to secure the equipment is available for use. There are minimal fees associated with the equipment. You can find those fees upon viewing the link. |
