Often described as a "game of high-tech hide and seek," geocaching is an outdoor sporting activity in which the participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) to stash and find containers, called "caches.” At Camp Todd there are two courses – a beginner one, which is located in the central area of the camp and an advanced course which covers the whole camp. The caches are in waterproof containers and contain trinkets for trading. The basic principles of Geocaching are…If you take an item from the cache then replace it with an item that is of equal or greater value, to take a litter bag with you to pick up any litter you find along the way. This activity can be self-guided or you can arrange to have a paid Facilitator. See the Ranger to get you started. The camp has GPS units available for a small rental fee.
