WHO: Grade levels depend on destinations choices
Girl Scout destinations can whisk you to the far corners of the world where you will meet remarkable girls, develop leadership skills, gain confidence, and enjoy valuable learning opportunities. APRIL 2012
Delaware Symphony Orchestra, featuring Gustav Holst’s, The Planets
WHO: All Girl Scouts and Adults
WHEN: April 28, 2012, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
WHERE: Delaware Symphony Orchestra at the Grand Opera House, 818 N. Market Street, Wilmington, DE 19801
COST: $26 for the day for girls (including concert); $21 for accompanying adults. (Includes DSO patch)
This day of musical discovery will include the following: a discussion of education and careers in music; a backstage tour and history of the beautiful Grand Opera House; a lesson in composition and a musical storytelling activity; an instrument Petting Zoo (a chance to try out all the different families of instruments); and a concert with NASA space images on the big screen, featuring Delaware Symphony Orchestra playing Gustav Holst’s, The Planets.

10:15 a.m. - Education and Careers in Music featuring a student chamber mini-concert
10:45 a.m. - Tour of Grand Opera House
11:15 a.m. - Break
11:25 a.m. - Composition and Music and Storytelling Activities
12:10 p.m. - Lunch (Please bring a bagged lunch)

Earth Day - Camp Todd
GRADE LEVEL: All grade levels, and adults.
WHEN/WHERE: Camp Todd
Day Program: Saturday, April 28, 2012, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Overnight Program: Friday, April 27, 2012, 6 p.m. to Sunday, April 29, 2012, 10 a.m.
Celebrate and discover the abundant beauty of the earth! Explore the lake, hike and play wild games while having fun with new-found friends. Our earth needs our help; together we will explore, debate and challenge ourselves to identify what we are doing to make it a better place. You will receive food and lodging Friday through Sunday.
COST: Day Program, $10 per participant, includes program supplies and patch, $25 for participants who are not yet in Scouting. Overnight participants, $35 per participant, includes four meals and a patch.
NOTE: When registering for the overnight program, you must have a camp-trained person attend the program with your group. Please follow Safety Activity Checkpoints and Girl/Adult ratios when registering. Friday’s dinner is not provided by the program. Min.: 15 day and 15 overnight Max.: 50 day and 100 overnight.

Walk Softly On This Earth
GRADE LEVEL: All grade levels. Families welcome!
WHEN: Saturday, May 12, 2012
WHERE: Camp Country Center
Earth is our home planet, let’s choose to love it and learn as much as we can about why our earth is so special. Have lunch in our LEED Platinum-Certified Lynn W. Williams Science and Technology Lodge. Roam our trails, explore under logs, investigate our streams and plant native plantings in our garden. Have fun learning about the birds and critters that visit our fields, streams and forests.
COST: $15 per person, includes activities, lunch, earth friendly service project and patch.
NOTE: Dress for the outdoors! Carpool when possible as parking is limited and it saves energy.
