Want to be a Council Delegate?
National conventions are held every three years for the purpose of determining the general lines of policy of the Girl Scout movement and the Girl Scout program. Each council is eligible to send delegates to the convention, and the combined delegate body is referred to as the National Council. The number of delegates each council will send is based on membership as of September 30, 2013. Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay is eligible to send approximately 6 voting delegates, and 3 alternates as prescribed by the formula established by Girl Scouts of USA. The Committee reviewed applications and selected a slate of national council delegates and alternate delegates elected at the GSCB Annual Meeting on April 30, 2014.

GSLI is where a lot of the magic of convention happens! It is a conference that provides girls ages 14 and older with three days of leadership skill-building activities tied to the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE). We are looking for 8-10 teen Girl Scouts (ages 14-18) to attend. Applications are due to the Newark Resource Center no later than Friday, June 20, 2014. (Download flyer and application HERE.) Interviews for applicants will take place the week of June 23, 2014. The cost of the trip for GSLI will be approximately $1,500. A limited amount of financial assistance may be available. Monthly payment plans can be arranged with payment due in full by September 5, 2014. For more information, contact Renee Naughton, 302-456-7150 ext. 7186 or Rnaughton@cbgsc.org.
