Thank You card from Major Macklin
Read a letter to the Girl Scouts of our Council
from Frank Reuter, Master Sergeant in the United States Army.
In 2003, Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay Council was inundated
with inquiries from the community and Girl Scout troops on how they
could help make a difference to our armed forces stationed overseas.
Community service is a hallmark of Girl Scouting.
In
response, Operation Taste of Homesm
was launched. Since 2003 over
100,000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies have been donated to the
USO for our Armed Forces.
The USO located at Dover Air Force Base distributes the cookies to
our Armed Forces all over the world. This project gives girls the
opportunity to make a positive difference for our women and men in
the armed forces overseas.
Thank you for your support!
If you would like to donate to Operation Taste of Homesm,
please send a check made payable to GSCB, with OTH on the memo line,
and send to the Newark Resource
Center. If you have any questions, please contact Michelle
Passwaters at (302) 456-7162 or
mpasswaters@cbgsc.org.
