Please note that our Summer Camp Season
for 2007 is over, the following events are to showcase what we did and
do not necessarily reflect 2008 Camp Program. Thank you to all who
participated and had such a great time. We hope to see you again next
year!

Swimming, hiking, arts and crafts, nature and science activities,
campfires, s’mores, songs, games, and cookouts are all part of the
summer tradition offered at Camp Grove Point. All Resident and Day Camp
programs will include these great camp activities!
Buddy Up!
Sign up for Grove Point Resident or Day Camp with a buddy who has
never been to Camp Grove Point before and receive $10 off your
registration. Campers will also receive a special token from Camp
Grove Point to remember their summer with their special buddy! |

Teddy Bear Picnic
(Week One June 24-29)
Bring along your favorite stuffed animal friend for this week of animal
wonder. Play animal charades, have a jungle breakfast, and learn
fascinating facts about the creatures at Camp Grove Point. End the week
with a very special teddy bear picnic!

Little Mermaids
(Week Two July 1-6)
Born to swim? Spend your days making waves in the pool and playing water
games. Have a floating lunch, explore the underwater world, and work on
sandcastle creations.

Sea Horses
(Week Three July 8-13)
Come “sea” what all the fuss is about. Start off by exploring Camp Grove
Point’s beautiful beach and pool, and then take a trip to the nearby
stables for hands-on fun with some real horses. You get the best of both
worlds with this fun-filled program! Capacity: 24 Cost: $400
Fireflies
(mini-session Week Four July 15-17)
Come discover the nighttime world of Camp Grove Point. Stay up past
bedtime, have a pajama party, and tell silly stories around the
campfire. During this three day and two night program you’ll be sure to
have fun during a sleep-in breakfast in your unit!

Brownie Jam
(mini-session Week Four July 18-20)
First time camper? This one is for you. Your thr ee days and two nights
will be jam packed with songs, games, swimming, campfires, and s’mores!
This is a great introduction to Camp Grove Point. Capacity: 24 Cost:

Pony Tails
(Week Five July 22-27)
Want to learn more about the wonderful world of horses? Your time will
be filled with lots of horse related activities, learning about basic
riding, care, and history of the horse. You will also take a trip to the
nearby stables. Why not come and “horse” around camp with us? Capacity:
24 Cost: $400
Slimy Scientists
(Week Six July 29-August 3)
It’s slime time! Spend your week playing with slime, goop, gak, bubbles,
and glop. You be the scientist! Create your own ooey gooey inventions
and earn the Science in Action Try-It.

Dancing Divas
(Week Seven August 5-10)
Want to dance your way through camp? Learn cool new dances, make up
dance routines, and even put on a show for the rest of camp. Get your
groove on while earning the Dancercise Try-It.

Go All Out
(Week One June 24-29)
Want to play like a pro? Tennis, ultimate frisbee, archery, capture the
flag, and water polo are just the tip of the iceberg. Never heard of
some of these games? Come see what the buzz is about and go all out!

On Target
(Week Two July 1-6)
Calling all straight shooters! Want to learn about archery or improve
your skills? Have fun creating your own target, shooting for balloons,
and participating in a camp tournament. No experience necessary.

Splash
(Week Two July 1-6) AND (Week Seven August 5-10)
Splash on in to Camp Grove Point for a wet and wonderful camp
experience! Swimming, boating, tubing, snorkeling, and beachcombing are
sure to wet your appetite for water fun. You’ll take part in creating an
all-camp water carnival!

Shipwrecked
(Week Three July 8-13)
The hunt is on! The pirates that used to live on the Sassafras River
buried their treasure somewhere on Ordinary Point. After learning what
it takes to survive in the wilderness you will head off for an overnight
adventure to find that treasure. It’s up to you to bring it back to
camp. Think you’re up for the challenge? Capacity: 16 Cost: $350
Horse Fan
(Week Three July 8-13)
It’s time to saddle up! At the nearby stables you’ll groom, saddle, and
ride. Learn what it takes to be an equestrian. Those interested can earn
the Horse Fan badge. This program is for girls with little or no
horseback riding experience.

Camp Hogwarts Returns
(Week Four July 15-20)
Camp Hogwarts is back with a blast this summer! Attend all your favorite
classes: Herbology, Divination, Potions, and Care of Magical Creatures.
Enjoy a game of Quidditch and treats from Honeydukes. Your week won’t be
complete until you travel out of camp to see the new Harry Potter movie
at the local theatre. Got a costume? Bring it along! Capacity: 16

Crazy Creations
(Week Four July 15-20)
Master the fine art of decoupage, tie-dye, and finger weaving! Make a
bowl out of an old record and test out origami. Sign up for this one if
you dream of spending your days in the arts and crafts lodge!

Night Owls
(Week Five July 22-27)
Are you still up when the sun goes down? Explore the night hours with
night hikes, late night swims, and stargazing. Take it easy with a
sleep-in breakfast in your unit.

Saddle and Paddle
(Week Five July 22-27)
Can’t decide between horses or the waterfront? You don’t have to! Spend
half of your time learning the basics of riding and horse care at the
nearby stables. Then spend the other half cruising around in your very
own kayak. You’ll even get the chance to cruise around during a kayak
lunch!
Capacity: 12 Cost: $425 Must be able to swim in deep water.
Scrumptious
(Week Six July 29-August 3)
Learn the fine art of cooking outdoors. Create a menu in the beginning
of the week and cook what YOU want! Cake in a box oven, lasagna over an
open fire, and mountain pie pizzas are just the beginning of the
possibilities.

Horsing Around
(Week Seven August 5-10)
Already spent some time horseback riding? This program is for the
advanced beginner and intermediate riders. Riders will expand their
grooming and saddling skills and fine-tune their riding at the nearby
stables. Improve your horseback riding with some new techniques. Giddy
up! Capacity: 18 Cost: $450
KOAST!
(offered every week!)
Want all the best that Camp Grove Point has to offer? KOAST! (kayaking,
orienteering, archery, sailing, tie-dyeing) into this program! For the
girl who wants a little bit of everything and a whole lot more.

Extreme Camp Makeover
(Week One June 24-29)
It’s time for the finishing touch! We need you to help with some of the
final touches for Camp Grove Point’s new look. Work with camp staff to
finish the Camper’s Hideaway. Learn all about design through
woodworking, painting, and interior decoration.
Capacity: 16 Cost: $375
Swamp Thang
(Week One June 24-29)
Want to kayak, sail, tube, AND swim? Do it all and still have time to
explore the swamplands of Camp Grove Point. If the waterfront is where
you want to hang, sign up for this one you swamp thang! Capacity: 16

All That Dazzles
(mini-session Week Two July 1-3)
Calling all teens interested in going for the Girl Scout Silver or Girl
Scout Gold Award! This three day two night program is designed to help
you earn some of the prerequisites for your dazzling Girl Scout awards.
Enjoy all that Camp Grove Point has to offer while getting a jump start
on your Silver or Gold.

Spatastic
(Week Two July 1-6)
Want a week of complete relaxation? Here’s your chance! Make and use
homemade spa materials, learn about yoga and Pilates, and lounge in your
pajamas. Get the latest scoop on how to take care of your mind and body.
Capacity: 16 Cost: $350

Climb On!
(Week Three July 8-13)
Come experience the thrill of the climb! Challenge yourself at Camp
Grove Point’s obstacle course by crossing the Acid River and Minefield.
Learn the techniques it takes to boulder and climb safely. Show off your
new skills when we travel to a nearby climbing wall! Capacity: 12

Wranglers
(Week Three July 8-13)
AND (Week Five July 22-27)
Want to hang out at the barn all week? This program is great for
beginner and intermediate riders who want to establish or improve their
horseback riding skills. Get lessons at the nearby stable on how to
groom, saddle, and ride!
Capacity: 12 Cost: $450
Midnight Madness
(Week Four July 15-20)
Don’t want to go to bed at night? You don’t have to! Learn how to read
the stars, take a nighttime trust hike, and have an all night campfire
roast. Still not ready for bed? How about a late night dip in the pool?
Capacity: 20 Cost: $350
Sail Away
(Week Four July 15-20)
Set your sails on the Sassafras River this summer! Learn the basics of
rigging and sailing a variety of different sailboats. By the end of the
week you’ll be gliding across the river like a pro.

Broadway Bound
(Week Five July 22-27)
Imagine your name in lights! Whether you like to sing, dance, act, or
work behind the scenes, you’ll have a blast. Perfect your acting, learn
about set design, and visit a local theatre for a live stage
performance. End the week with a performance for the whole camp.

More Than Meets the Eye
(Week Six July 29-August 3)
Ever wonder what it takes to make and sell your own jewelry? Talk with a
young professional who turned a hobby into something more. Then get a
hands-on lesson and make a few pieces of jewelry just for you. You will
also get to try your hand at screen printing, marbleizing your own
stationery, and turning a plain white t-shirt into the latest fashion
trend.

My Summer Vacation
(Week Six July 29-August 3)
Where would you like to spend your summer vacation? The beach? Shopping?
An amusement park? Why not do it all?! Spend a day at Rehoboth Beach in
the ocean and at the shops and then take a trip to Six Flags over
America. When all the excitement is over pamper yourself at the “Grove
Point Day Spa”. Capacity: 12 Cost: $450
River Runners
(Week Seven August 5-10)
Paddle, pole, and roll! You’ll do all things kayak as you learn and
practice new skills on the river. Then, gear up and paddle out for an
overnight kayaking adventure!
Capacity: 12 Cost: $375 Must be able to swim in deep water.
Rough Riders
(Week Seven August 5-10)
For the girl who has some horseback riding lessons under her belt, this
one’s for you! Come practice your skills and learn advanced moves at the
nearby stables. Expand your care for and knowledge of horses. This
program is for intermediate riders.

KOAST! Teen
(offered every week!)

Camp Aide
(entering grades 8-10 in fall 2007) (Week One June 24-29)
Get the chance to learn what it takes to be a camp counselor. Focus on
camp craft, traditions, games, and sports. Participate in a mini staff
training, learn how camp runs, and help plan future activities for camp.
Girls who participate in this program will earn their Program Aide pin
and after evaluation may be offered the opportunity to volunteer later
in the summer.
Capacity: 8 Cost: $350
Aquatic Aide
(entering grades 8-10 in fall 2007) (Week Two July 1-6)
Come learn how the waterfront stays afloat! Spend your week at the
waterfront learning how to run games and facilitate boating. You will
also get the chance to perfect your skills. Participate in a mini staff
training, learn how camp runs, and help plan future waterfront
activities for camp. Girls who participate in this
program will earn
their Program Aide pin and after evaluation may be offered the
opportunity to volunteer later in the summer.

Adventure Aide
(entering grades 8-10 in fall 2007) (Week Three July 8-13)
Learn to be a leader of adventure! This program is for girls who want to
learn about the adventurous side of Camp Grove Point! Archery, team
building, outdoor skills and survival are what you will focus on.
Participate in a mini staff training, learn how camp runs, and help plan
future adventures for camp. Girls who participate in this program will
earn their Program Aide pin and after evaluation may be offered the
opportunity to volunteer later in the summer. Capacity: 8 Cost: $350
CIT
(entering grades 11-12 in fall 2007)
(Weeks Four through Six July 15-August 3)
This three week program gives girls who are interested in becoming camp
counselors the training they need, while still having fun at camp. Girls
will develop the following skills necessary to work with children in an
educational and outdoor setting: child development understanding, camp
program, leadership, teaching techniques, problem solving, and
communication. The first two weeks will focus on developing skill, and
the last week will be spent gaining experience as an intern in a camper
unit. Girls will earn the CIT I pin and will have the option to be
interviewed and return as an official Junior Counselor! Capacity: 8
Cost: $600
This is a three week program; participants must make arrangements to go
home over the weekends.
