Camp Grove Point

Camp Grove Point is located on 244 science acres in Earleville, MD. Ecologically diverse, Grove Point is home to beautiful meadows, whimsical woods, untouched wetlands, and a sand beach along the mouth of the Sassafras. Grove Point has a Program Center, small lodges, and rustic camping units with Adirondack cabins or platform tents. A summer at Grove Point includes swimming in the Olympic-sized swimming pool, hiking with friends, or going for a sail on the Sassafras.

 Activities

Kayaking

Available for girls in 4th grade or older. Beginner instruction and half-day trips available.

Sailing

Available for girls in 6th grade or older. Experiences can be tailored to a group’s specific needs including introduction to sailing, learning the science behind sailing, and knot-tying.

Geocaching

Available for all grade levels. Utilize GPS units to search for hidden containers with patches from Girl Scout councils across the United States.

Orienteering

Available for all grade levels. Use a map and compass to learn the art of orienteering with a practice course, before exploring all of Grove Point.

Archery

Available for girls in 2nd grade and older. Instruction available for a variety of skill levels.

Low Challenge Course *

Available for girls in 2nd grade and older. New in 2017, the low challenge course consists of 10 elements that help groups build trust, develop communication skills, and define leadership.

The low ropes challenge course is currently closed for repairs.

Arts and Crafts

Available for all grade levels. Intentional and grade level appropriate learning while making a mess!

GaGa Ball

Available for all grade levels. New in 2016, GaGa is a new, engaging way to play dodgeball but in a way where no one is “out.” One GaGa pit is located outside of the Program Center and one is located on the tennis courts.

Program Center

Maximum Capacity: 200 day/ 32 overnight

Contains a commercial kitchen, large dining room, three break out rooms, two screened-in porches and indoor plumbing. ServSafe certification is required for any group wishing to rent and utilize the kitchen. Sleeping accommodations are mattresses which can be placed on the floor in the main room. One shower stall is available in the building.

Blue Heron

Maximum Capacity: 11

Contains a residential kitchen, electricity, heat, indoor plumbing, flush toilets, 2 showers, and nearby fire circle. Sleeping accommodations are cots. The building is winterized.

Sea Gull

Maximum Capacity: 11

Contains a residential kitchen, electricity, heat, indoor plumbing, flush toilets, 2 showers, and nearby fire circle. Sleeping accommodations are cots. The building is winterized.

Star Lodge

Maximum Capacity: 75 day/ 28 overnight

Contains a residential kitchen, electricity, heat, indoor plumbing, flush toilets, 1 shower, and nearby fire circle. Sleeping accommodations are mattresses on the floor. The building is winterized.

Ahsosowah

Maximum Capacity: 32

Contains eight platform tents with 2 unit houses and 2 fire circles. Running water is available April 10-October 31. This unit can be split between two groups that are smaller than 16 individuals, although only one unit house has electricity, indoor flush toilets and showers.

Osprey

Maximum Capacity: 31

Contains seven platform tents with a unit house and fire circle. There is no electricity except for in Unit House and featured bathrooms are pit latrines. Running water is available April 10-October 31.

Sassapeake

Maximum Capacity: 24

Contains six platform tents with a unit house and fire circle. There is no electricity and featured bathrooms are flush latrines. Running water is available April 10-October 31.

Woodland

Maximum Capacity: 32

Contains eight platform tents with a unit house and fire circle. There is no electricity and featured bathrooms are flush latrines. Running water is available April 10-October 31. The unit is located near a shower house which features 9 showers.

Cimmaron

Maximum Capacity: 28

Contains four Adirondack cabins with a unit house and fire circle. There is no electricity and featured bathrooms are flush latrines. Running water is available April 10-October 31.

Trail’s End

Maximum Capacity: 28

Contains seven Adirondack cabins with a unit house and fire circle. There is no electricity and featured bathrooms are flush latrines. Running water is available April 10-October 31.
