Wonders of the Night Sky
Use telescopes, binoculars, and the naked eye to observe a bright moon, the Summer Triangle still high in the north, the gorgeous planet Saturn riding low between Sagittarius and Scorpius, and other celestial sights. Learn the secret of the North Star and constellations visible year-round. Join the ranks of Citizen Astronomers around the world by participating in the GLOBE at Night project to assess light pollution. If it’s cloudy, we will observe the virtual sky in Mt. Cuba’s planetarium. Dress for the weather and warmly to be outside. This program includes a fun patch and completes some requirements for the Junior Get Moving Journey and the Senior Sky badge.
