Camping Basics Training- Camp Country Center-SOLD OUT
Not sure where to start when planning your outdoor trip with your troop? Well, we have the course for you! Learn all the basics in this three-step course to receive your certificate. We will break down how to plan, pack, cook, fire build, care of camp site & equipment, and create outdoor programs. Once completed, you will become the master of your campsite!
Courses in winter will have indoor heated accommodations for sleeping. You must attend all hours scheduled for the course or you will not receive credit for taking the course. Directions to the sites will be sent with your confirmation.
To become Camping Certified, adults must complete the tutorial, webinar and the overnight session.
***Adults, who have previously taken Outdoor Education with another Girl Scout Council, Boy Scouts, or another youth serving organization, may submit a camp exemption form in lieu of taking Camping Basics.
Details to know about this course:
You will be broken into patrols and required to provide all equipment and food for the overnight session.
All activities take place rain, snow, or shine. Please dress accordingly.
Steps to be certified:
Online pre-session with quiz (The will take about 1.5 Hours, content will be emailed to you.)
September 29 2021, 7-8pm: Webinar with training team (1 hour- need a phone & computer, zoom link will be emailed.)
October 23-24, 2021: Camp Country Center - Overnight experience with hands on demonstrations. (By registering for this event you are registered for the overnight).
