Volunteer Resources

Welcome to the great adventure of Girl Scouting! Thanks to volunteers like you, generations of girls are learning to be leaders in their community and around the world. Below are some the most important resources you’ll need to inspire tomorrow’s leaders.

Blue Book of Basic Documents: This publication contains all of the basic documents of Girl Scouts of the USA. It is the foundation for the work of all Girl Scout councils.

Girl Scouts University: An online resource for volunteers created by GSUSA. It contains trainings, blogs and more.

Safety Activity Checkpoints: Safety checkpoints tailored for each activity girls might participate in (updated 8-26-2019)

Coming Soon: VTK 2.0! Updates are being made to the Volunteer Toolkit, and we will have training webinars soon.

Visit our Forms Library for more documents and information.

Volunteer Background Checks

It is mandatory for all adults to complete a background check to ensure the safety and well-being of our girls and volunteers handling troop funds. Please use a laptop or desktop computer to complete your background check, as Asurint's website does not support the use of tablets or phones.

There may be some repetitive steps, so please make sure to complete the background check to the end and click SUBMIT. You will know the background check is complete because you will receive an email stating you completed it.

For the self pay option ($6.25 fee), please use portal code selfpay. For the council pay option, please use portal code councilpay.

Complete your background check here.
