One of the most important parts of the Girl Scout program is to ensure activities are girl-led - meaning girls are the ones deciding what badges they want to earn, service projects to complete, and adventures to embark on. Not all troops can offer everything a girl might want; enter GSCB Special Interest Groups!
Special Interest Groups exist for Girl Scouts who want to go above and beyond their regular troop activities in specific areas like outdoor experiences and travel.

The selected Teen Girl Representatives will be introduced during the April 16, 2025 Annual Meeting.
Applications are open for members 14+ who are interested in being considered for a National Delegate role!
What does a National Delegate do?
National Council Delegates are elected to three-year terms and serve as your council’s voting members on the National Council. Throughout their three-year term, they gather feedback from members of their council, learn about proposals, and act as their council’s voice on the National Council. Delegates share insights and report on actions taken by the National Council with their membership at their council’s Annual Meeting and other council events.
While National Delegates attend the triennial National Council Session, GSCB will coordinate and pay for the following expenses of delegates: registration, transportation, and lodging. Alternate Delegates and visitors are welcome to attend but are responsible for their costs.
Here is the National Delegate Position Description to learn more about the responsibilities.
What is the National Council Session?
This special six-day gathering only happens once every three years and will take place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. Convention kicks off with our 58th National Council Session (NCS) from July 20–22, where delegates from around the country and overseas gather to vote on and discuss issues important to our Movement, and elect leaders for the next triennium.
After NCS, from July 23–25, thousands more Girl Scouts (and alums, families, and non-members) stream into town for a multi-day event featuring interactive workshops, inspiring speakers, and once-in-a- lifetime adventures that spark forever friendships.
That sounds AMAZING! How do I apply?
