The Animal Alliance
The Animal Alliance
The Animal Alliance provides the Animal Adventurer Program, a youth leadership, humane education, service-learning, and civic engagement experience for Girl Scouts ages 5–12. The program is available to both Girl Scout troops and individually registered Girl Scouts participating through the Juliette model, allowing girls to participate whether or not they belong to a traditional troop.
The program combines hands-on learning, guided activities, animal welfare education, and community service. Participants complete five activity areas leading to an Animal Adventurer patch: reading and reflection, animal habitat education, responsible pet care and a craft project, a live virtual animal welfare course led by The Animal Alliance, and an animal-focused service and community advocacy experience. The program is designed to complement Girl Scout badge exploration while developing empathy, leadership, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, self-efficacy, and civic responsibility.
For troops, activities may be completed collaboratively under the guidance of troop leaders, including the development of a troop-led animal welfare service project. For Juliettes, the program can be adapted for individual participation with support from a parent, caregiver, or Girl Scout volunteer, while maintaining the same core educational and service-learning objectives.
Program materials are packaged and delivered to participating Girl Scouts or group leaders, with virtual instruction and opportunities to connect learning to meaningful animal welfare service in their own communities. The broader mission of The Animal Alliance is to improve animals’ lives through humane education, advocacy, and accessible animal welfare programming while empowering young people to create positive change.

The program aims to educate Girl Scouts before they reach the DMV so they can make informed decisions about registering as organ donors. Girl Scouts can give back to the Delaware community through Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County is a non profit organization with the mission of building affordable housing. They raise money for this mission by taking in donations of gently used furniture and household goods at ReStores and selling the items to the general public.

There are volunteer opportunities at the ReStores for people who are over the age of 16. There are volunteer opportunities year round in the ReStores. Tasks would include helping take in donations, sorting and cleaning items, helping customers load their items into their vehicles. If a volunteer is over the age of 14, you can participate in other volunteer activities including special events, landscaping and “Rock the Block” cleanup activities.

The Kalmar Nyckel Foundation (KNF) is a non-profit educational organization that invites students and visitors to explore the cultural and maritime heritage of Delaware and its enduring ties to Sweden and Finland. KNF is a volunteer-based organization that built, owns, and operates Kalmar Nyckel from their homeport of Wilmington, Delaware. The ship serves as a floating classroom and an inspirational platform for educational programs that reach more than 30,000 people each year.
Launched in 1997, Kalmar Nyckel is the official Tall Ship of Delaware and a recognizable icon for its home state. Their ship serves as a catalyst for educational, social, and economic development in Delaware and beyond.
As a non-profit educational organization, KNF offers people of all ages and backgrounds a variety of sea- and land-based recreational and educational experiences. While they voyage throughout the mid-Atlantic from Virginia to New England each season, today’s ship resides at the stunning Copeland Maritime Center campus on Wilmington’s historic riverfront – just 200 yards from Fort Christina National Historic Landmark and the original ship’s landing site at “The Rocks” in 1638.

In partnership with the Girl Scout Arizona Cactus-Pine Council, Let's Go Compost has developed a four week program for Girl Scouts to learn hands-on about composting through STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) activities and community engagement to reduce their waste and help our planet. Lincoln Caverns provides specialized badge and patch programs for Girl Scouts of all ages. These programs emphasize experiential learning and the educational aspects of the site's remarkable natural caves. Miracle Workerz High School Robotics Team (AKA MOE Miracle of Engineering, Our Robot)
Are you interested in building industrial sized robots or a career in media?
If so, consider joining the Miracle Workerz High School Robotics Team. Also known as MOE (Miracle of Engineering, our robot). the team is open to students from any local high school. Students don't have to have any experience - you will be taught during team meetings. For the past 23 years, the team competes in the FIRST Robotics Competition and has competed at the FIRST World Championship in Houston, Atlanta, and Orlando. Students learn computer-aided design, mechanical design & fabrication, electronics, and robot programming. Students work with technical professionals to build a robot to compete in a sports game that changes every year.
Team members can earn up to 18 free college credits and are eligible for more than $80 million in scholarships. In addition, you learn skills to prepare you for a variety of careers.
The team is also looking for students for their media/marketing team who are specifically interested in web development, social media coordination, video editing, writers, and photographers. If you are interested in these type of roles, there are great opportunities with the Miracle Workers team!

The Motion of Gratitude
The Motion of Gratitude® offers experiential, wellness-based programs designed to help Girl Scouts cultivate emotional resilience, self-awareness, and meaningful connections—through the simple but powerful practice of gratitude.
Their signature Gratitude Guidebooks are structured 4-week journals that provide age-appropriate prompts, activities, and reflections to help Girl Scouts explore gratitude in a personal and practical way.
These guidebooks can be used:
- Individually by Girl Scouts working at their own pace
- Together as a troop experience with guided discussions and shared activities
- As part of a custom patch program, where Girl Scouts complete activities and reflections to earn a “Gratitude in Action” patch
In addition, they offer adult training workshops for troop leaders and caregivers, focused on integrating emotional wellness tools like breathwork, mindfulness, and intentional reflection into daily life and troop settings. These sessions support adult well-being and empower leaders to guide girls from a grounded, compassionate place.
Programs can be delivered in-person or virtually, and are aligned with Girl Scout values of self-development, community engagement, and leadership.

Outrun the Sun is a nonprofit organization supporting skin cancer education and melanoma research. Outrun the Sun is partnering with Girl Scout councils across America to offer the Sun Safety Patch to Girl Scouts of all ages. Through the patch program, Girl Scouts are learning the importance of sun safety and skin cancer prevention. Additionally, they are building self-esteem and realizing that they can be comfortable in their own, perfect skin.

Their volunteers work with local farms, farmer's markets and stores to "glean" their unsold produce. This produce goes directly to feeding agencies in our community to feed those in need. Their events are throughout the year.
