Summer camp can be a life-changing, unforgettable experience where a girl can make new friends and learn about herself. Whether she wants to get away for the day, or the week, there's an opportunity for her at Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay. Girl Scout camp give girls unique, hands-on opportunities to try new things, hone their outdoor skills, and take on new leadership roles.

CIT (Counselor-in-Training) - Overnight Only toggle arrow

Calling all camp-loving teens! Join us for a leadership experience at overnight camp this summer. Counselor-in-Training One and Two (rising 9th-12th graders*) dive into the camp experience, honing their leadership skills as they work with younger campers.

The CIT program includes plenty of time for training, experience, and play. You must stay for the entirety of the program to earn a CIT achievement. During their time at camp, CITs are expected to lead activities, support camp staff in supervising campers, managing conflicts, and other responsibilities as needed. Counselors in Training do go home for the weekend between weeks.

*Girl Scouts must be entering Grade 12 in the Fall of 2027. High School graduates will not be able to serve as CITs.

Cadette Program Aide - Overnight and Day Camp toggle arrow

Ready to take your leadership skills to the next level? The Program Aide experience gives Girl Scout Cadettes the opportunity to step into a leadership role and make a difference at summer camp! Program Aide is open to rising 6th - 8th graders.

Through hands-on training and mentoring, Cadettes learn how to plan and lead activities, work with younger campers, and support camp staff in creating a fun, safe, and inclusive environment. As a Program Aide, you’ll build confidence, teamwork, and communication skills - all while enjoying the magic of camp! Program Aides do go home between weeks.

Camp Registration

Camp Registration Expectations and Prep toggle arrow

Summer Camp 2027 registration opens Wednesday, December 15th at 7AM EST. We recommend registering early - spots are limited and tend to go fast!

We can't wait to have your Girl Scout join us at camp this summer. In order to help you get through her registration quickly and easily, start your registration with the following nearby:

All camper medical insurance details (carrier, name of insured policy holder, policy/group numbers, insurance company phone number, etc.)
Camper physician and dentist information (name, address, phone)
Immunization record
Medical condition details and disease/health history
Camper medication/prescription details (name of drug, dosage instructions, etc.)
Credit/Debit Card (A $50.00 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of registration, even for families applying for Financial Assistance.)

Reserving your spot is simple. You’ll complete a short registration in CampDoc and pay the $50.00 non-refundable deposit (this is required at time of registration, even for families applying for Financial Assistance).

Once basic registration is complete, you’ll also be able to complete the medical and health history portion of the registration via CampDoc. No need to finish in one sitting, you can save and come back as many times as you need. The medical and health history portion MUST be completed minimum TWO WEEKS prior to your camp week.

Cancellation Policy toggle arrow

A written request is required for all camp registration changes or cancellations. Your request must be submitted prior to the start of your camp session to be considered for a refund. The $50.00 deposit is nonrefundable.

Financial Assistance toggle arrow

Financial Assistance is available on a case by case basis. For those interested in applying, you can access the application during the registration process and will be contacted regarding approval. The $50.00 deposit will be required at registration, including those applying for Financial Assistance. Should the deposit be a financial burden, please call or email MemberCare@cbgsc.org.

For those who qualify, Financial Assistance is only available for one summer experience (i.e. one full week, one mini week, or one week of day camp).

Camp Care Packages can be added on during registration. Some items may be available to purchase a la carte via our retail catalog or in-person at drop-off. Available while supplies last.

Care Packages purchased during registration will be distributed during camp check-in.

Camper Mail

Nothing quite compares to a handwritten note! We are happy to pass along a letter to your camper. All you need to do is email camp@cbgsc.org with the subject “Camper Mail - First Name, Last Initial”.

You can also write your own letter(s) and drop them off at check-in, to be delivered throughout the week. Mailing letters through the post office is not the most timely route for our location.

Send your camper with a card, envelope and stamp. We will encourage her to write home!

Assistant Camp Director of Programs toggle arrow

As Assistant Director of Program, you are responsible for the supervision of camp staff members and coordination and implementation of all camp activities. Directly supervise activity leads to ensure program requirements are met and camp standards are upheld. Help create programming for campers, mentor staff in developing creative ideas, teach and implement programming when needed.

Minimum 5 years of experience; preferably supervisory experience and experience in diversified content areas. Must be a hard worker, be dedicated to youth development, and be willing to be responsible for the operation of camp when the Camp Director is off site. Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid Driver’s License. Must have the ability to work strenuously in extreme hot and cold temperatures, and able to navigate over gravel and uneven paths.

This is a seasonal position, housing and meals provided.

Assistant Camp Director of Programs Full Description

Assistant Camp Director of Units toggle arrow

As an Assistant Director of Units, you will work hand in hand with the Camp Director to run an outstanding summer experience for campers and staff. Mentor staff and help them to be problem solvers and find solutions to hiccups in daily camp life. Help create lines of communication among camp staff. You will be directly responsible for overseeing unit leads, unit counselors, and junior camp aides. Must be a hard worker, be dedicated to youth development and willing to be responsible for the operation of camp when the Camp Director is off site.

Assistant Camp DIrector of Units Full Description

Unit Lead

Take on a mentoring role for staff this summer as a Unit Lead. You will live and work with campers and staff, develop and implement programming, and be the point person for staff in your unit(s). This role reports to the Assistant Director of Units. Work closely with the administrative staff to facilitate counselor placements, review staff performance, and ensure that the standards of camp are upheld.

Must be 21 years of age or older. Must have demonstrated previous child-related and staff supervision experience (camp related experience a plus), have a valid driver’s license, be able to work strenuously in extreme hot and cold temperatures, navigate over gravel and uneven paths, be willing to drive.

This is a seasonal position, housing and meals provided.

Unit Lead Full Description

As a Unit Counselor, you will have the responsibility of supervising campers while helping them learn life skills and participate in camp activities. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: creating and implementing programs, supervising girls that may range in age from 6-17, managing conflict, and working with the camp staff team to uphold camp standards, up keep of cleanliness and neatness of camp, record daily and weekly paperwork. This is a residential camp; overnight responsibilities are required.

Must be 18 years old and/or have graduated high school by the start of camp. Must be comfortable working and living outdoors, have the ability to work strenuously in extreme hot and cold temperatures, able to navigate over gravel and uneven paths, dedicated to child development, enjoy problem solving, work well with others, and be full of life and energy.

This is a seasonal position, housing and meals provided.

Unit Counselor Full Description

As a Junior Camp Aide, you will assist with supervising campers while helping them learn life skills and participate in camp activities. Junior Camp Aide Full Description

Waterfront Lead toggle arrow

As a Waterfront Lead, you are responsible for overseeing the safety and well-being of campers in the water. You will administer swim tests to determine camper swim levels. You will be teaching swimming and boating lessons, guarding open swim and boating times. Must be a strong swimmer and able to pass an American Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguarding course, and comfortable in small crafts.

Must be at least 18 years of age, experienced with teaching children, have the ability to work strenuously in extreme hot and cold temperatures, and able to navigate over gravel and uneven paths. When not in the water, you will also help the counselors supervise and mentor campers.

This is a seasonal position, housing and meals provided.
