Showing love and appreciation for Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay volunteers is a long-standing Girl Scout tradition. After all, our volunteers are amazing! Our volunteers are all about the girls. We love them for it and, well, Girl Scouting wouldn’t be the same without them.

Volunteers are at the heart of the Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay organization. We simply could not serve our girls without their commitment, care, and support. We encourage Girl Scouts, their parents and caregivers, and fellow volunteers to show their appreciation often.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

Handmade cards or gifts
A thank you call or text after a meeting or event
Create your own fun awards (ex. Egg-cellent Job Award, Girl Scout Spirit Award, etc.)

Share a shout out on Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn (Make sure you have permission to post photos of fellow volunteers/girls and don’t forget to tag @gschesapeakebay!)

Juliette Gordon Low World Friendship Medal - This award recognizes individuals and councils who have enriched and leveraged the global understanding of Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting to grow responsible global citizens. This prestigious national award is approved by the Girl Scouts of the USA National Board of Directors.

Appreciation Pin	The Appreciation Pin recognizes an individual's exemplary service in support of delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. This support has had measurable impact within one geographic area of service to help reach and surpass the mission-delivery goals of the area.	2
Evergreen Pin	The Evergreen Pin is for volunteers who are delivering outstanding Outdoor Programming to at least one Service Unit or Program Grade Level.	3
Honor Pin	The Honor Pin recognizes an individual's exemplary service in support of delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience; this support has had measurable impact on two or more geographic areas of service to reach and surpass the mission-delivery goals of the council.	3
Seagull Pin	The Seagull Pin honors an individual with a pattern of consistent service which impacts the entire Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay council. This award is approved by the GSCB Board of Directors.	3
Thanks Badge	The Thanks Badge honors an individual whose ongoing commitment, leadership, and service have had an exceptional, measurable impact on meeting the mission-delivery goals and priorities of the entire council or the entire Girl Scout Movement.	4
Thanks Badge II	The Thanks Badge II honors a previous Thanks Badge award recipient who has continued to provide exemplary service in a leadership role which resulted in a measurable impact benefitting the entire Girl Scout Movement.	5
GSCB Pin	The GSCB Pin is for continued service that impacts the entire council or Girl Scout Movement after the Thanks II has been earned.	4
President's Award	The President's Award recognizes the efforts of a service-delivery team or committee whose exemplary service in support of delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience surpassed team goals and resulted in significant, measurable impact toward reaching the council's overall goals.	3
Beacon Award	Awarded to a registered Girl Scout who has provided exceptional, outstanding service that benefits the total Council or entire Girl Scout Movement far beyond the call of duty as a Girl Scout Volunteer.	Endorsements provided by GSCB Board of Directors and CEO

Green Angel (Patch)	For a volunteer whose service is outstanding and creative.	Registered Girl Scout Member No Council Debt Individual actively recognizes, understands and practices the values of inclusive behaviors.
Volunteer of Excellence	For a volunteer who has contributed outstanding service while partnering directly with girls in any pathway to implement the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.	Registered Girl Scout Member No Council Debt Individual actively recognizes, understands and practices the values of inclusive behaviors.
Rising Star	For a volunteer who puts their goals into action, pursues leadership positions, and perserveres through challenges.	Registered Girl Scout Member No Council Debt Individual actively recognizes, understands and practices the values of inclusive behaviors.
Unforgettable Cookie	For a volunteer who continues to support the Cookie Program at the Troop and/or Service Unit level year after year. Honey Roasted Rockstar	For a volunteer who continues to support the Fall Product Program at the Troop and/or Service Unit level year after year.	Registered Girl Scout Member No Council Debt Completed required Fall Product training Holds an active Fall Product Champion role at the Service Unit and/or Troop level Individual actively recognizes, understands and practices the values of inclusive behaviors.
First Year Leader*	For first year Troop Leader(s) who have completed one year of service and plan to continue to lead an active troop. *The First Year Leader will be automatically provided at the beginning of each year to first year leaders who meet the defined criteria. For every 5 years of service, volunteers earn a Years of Service pin. These pins are usually distributed at Service Unit meetings or recognition events. Volunteers with 15+ years of service may be recognized at our Annual Meeting.
