Cybersecurity 1
Learn the basics of cybersecurity through exploring how computers talk to each other. In this program, Girl Scouts will find out how computers read information, what safety and protection means and how data (both good and bad) travel along the internet.
This program is 2 hours, which includes a debrief and survey. GSCB Program Specialists will provide all supplies needed.
*This program requires an indoor meeting space.
Your troop or service unit is responsible for providing ratio.
Program attendees will complete the requirements for the Cybersecurity Basics badge for their level and will receive a fun patch for participating. One patch per Membership Year.
Cybersecurity 2
The internet is a powerful tool! You can chat with friends, research school projects, play games, watch videos, or listen to music. The downside is that you leave information about yourself with every screen tap and click of the mouse. In this program, Girl Scouts find out how to create and protect a username and password. They discover what information is private and the people they can share it with. They explore how information online can last forever and who is trustworthy online.

Bring your detective skills to learn what happens behind-the-scenes online to your personal data! In this program, Girl Scouts will use investigative skills to explore how the internet is open to threats and dangers and learn ways to be safe online.
This program is two hours, which includes a debrief and survey. GSCB Program Specialists will provide all supplies needed.
