Ready for your next Girl Scout adventure? All signs point to Program on the Move!

Program on the Move is Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay's primary source of program delivery.

What does that mean? It means this is your first stop for exceptional Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay programming!

New for 2026-27: Due to an increased focus on membership recruitment and community engagement, our Program team will be dedicating additional time to recruitment events and outreach efforts. As a result, Program on the Move will not be offered in an on-demand format for the 2026-27 membership year.

However, we are excited to introduce a new approach: Program on the Move: On Tour!

Beginning in November 2026, the Program team will being at least 2 FREE, staff-led programs to every Service Unit during the membership year. These programs will be open to all Girl Scouts, and the topics will be selected based on the interests and input of youth members within your Service Unit, ensuring each visit is meaningful and engaging.

What to expect from your Program on the Move visit:

Every Girl Scout who participates in a Program on the Move program will receive a FREE patch! One patch per Girl Scout, per program year.

GSCB will work with Service Units to determine the date, time and location of the program and GSCB staff bring necessary materials and know-how to facilitate the desired activities.

Circuits

Have you ever wondered how the light switch talks to the light bulb? They’re definitely not texting each other! Maybe not in the way we think of texting, anyway. But they are sending messages – through a circuit!

This program is two hours, which includes a debrief and survey. GSCB Program Specialists will provide all supplies needed.

Your Service Unit is responsible for providing ratio.

Program attendees will receive a fun patch for participating. One patch per Membership Year.

Outdoor Skill

The Outdoor Skills Patch Program is open to all Girl Scout levels, from Daisy to Ambassador. Girls will build core outdoor skills in areas like First Aid, Leave No Trace & Environmental Stewardship, Fire Building, Outdoor Safety & Survival Skills, Knife Safety, Outdoor Cooking, Knots & Lashing, and Navigation in accordance with your troops level(s).

This program is intended to complement, not replace, the existing Girl Scout Journeys, badges, or other outdoor activities—it’s a fun and flexible way to enrich your group’s adventures!

Your Service Unit is responsible for providing ratio.

Program attendees will meet some of the requirements of the Outdoor Skills patch program and will receive a Program on the Move fun patch for participating. One patch per Membership Year.

First Aid

Being prepared is what Girl Scouts do best! Learn how to stay safe, help others in emergencies, and handle common minor injuries like cuts and burns. They’ll build their own first aid kits and explore how to be prepared and stay calm in urgent situations. Activities are tailored by level and support earning the First Aid badge.

This program is an hour to an hour and a half, which includes a debrief and survey. GSCB Program Specialists will provide all supplies needed.

Program attendees will complete all or most of the requirements for the First Aid badge for their level and will receive a fun patch for participating. One patch per Membership Year.

Cookie Confidence

Improv

Yes, and...Join us for some spontaneous, informative fun in the dramatic arts. Stage direction, script reading, improv games - they’ll be having so much fun, they won’t even realize that they're working on public speaking, confidence and team building too.

This program is two hours, which includes a debrief and survey. GSCB Program Specialists will provide all supplies needed. This program is suitable for indoor and outdoor meeting spaces. Your Service Unit is responsible for providing ratio.

Girl Scouts Past and Present

Want to know more about our Girl Scout Heritage? Girl Scouts Past and Present is for you! Learn about Girl Scouts’ trailblazing founder Juliette Gordon Low and explore Girl Scouts’ impact throughout American history. This program has been crafted with the help of the Girl Scouts of Chesapeake Bay Archives Committe to educate a new generation of Girl Scouts in a fun and engaging way.

This program is 90 minutes, which includes a debrief and survey. GSCB Program Specialists will provide all supplies needed.

Outdoor Art

Explore the outdoors and use what you see and hear to make different kinds of art projects. Get inspired by the outdoors! In this program, Girl Scouts will learn how to look at nature like an artist and will make their own outdoor art.

Seasonal Hike

First time hiker? Seasoned hiker who wants a break from planning? Somewhere in between? This is for you! Reserve a GSCB Program Specialist to lead your group on a short hike -location of your choosing. GSCB Program Specialists will tailor your hike and experience to fit your group’s needs.

Body Appreciation

Body appreciation is important for all! Appreciating our bodies and ourselves goes beyond liking our appearance. Accepting ourselves and others, being mindful about what we view in the media, and positive language are just some pieces that make up body appreciation. In this program, Girl Scouts will explore what it means to appreciate themselves for who they are as they learn about the many components of body appreciation. Activities are tailored by level and support earning the Body Appreciation badge.

This program is an hour to an hour and a half, which includes a debrief and survey. GSCB Program Specialists will provide all supplies needed.

It's all about the progression!

We've designed our Program on the Move topic selections with progression in mind. Each time you have a Program on the Move visit, your group will get a fresh, new program experience that builds upon the skills they have already learned during past visits.

What is it? Program on the Move is a completely FREE program opportunity that Girl Scout troops and/or Service Units can request to come out to your meeting location.

What types of activities are available? There are a number of topic selections available, depending on your program level. Examples include seasonal hike, improv, outdoor art, cookie confidence, and more. View the dropdowns above to learn more about each topic.

If the program meets badge requirements, will girls receive the badge? Badges are not included. However, after reserving your program, GSCB will contact you about purchasing earned badges for your attendees with no shipping costs. If you choose to purchase badges, we will do our best to have them delivered to girls during the program. Depending on when you place the order and shipping timelines, we may need to arrange a separate delivery.

What should I expect at my program? GSCB facilitators will bring all the necessary materials to facilitate a fun experience. Our facilitators will need 30 minutes to set up, so please ensure your meeting location can accommodate that. Programs are generally two hours and includes a debrief and survey. Girls will also receive a Program on the Move fun patch! One patch per membership year.

What happens if I need to cancel? If you need to cancel, please contact GSCB Member Care at 1-800-341-4007 immediately. We thank you in advance for this, as it helps us to provide as many program opportunities as possible.

What happens in the case of inclement weather? While it is GSCB’s intention to always deliver scheduled programming, inclement weather may necessitate cancellation of programming. Girl Experience Specialists, in coordination with the Associate Director of Program and Partnerships, may make decisions to hold or cancel programs on an individual basis based on the safety and well-being of all involved.

We will do our best to reschedule your program. The Girl Experience Specialist will reach out within 48 hours of cancelled program.
