Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County - ReStore Locations in Wilmington and Middletown - Girl Scouts can give back to the Delaware community through Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County is a non profit organization with the mission of building affordable housing. They raise money for this mission by taking in donations of gently used furniture and household goods at ReStores and selling the items to the general public.

Donating Items:
Items to be donated can be dropped off at either ReStore location.

For donation pickups, call 302-652-5181 or email restoredonations@habitatncc.org. They are always in need of donated items. Information on donation guidelines can be found at habitatncc.org then click on ReStores.

Volunteering:
For volunteer information, click on volunteer at habitatncc.org. For any questions, you can email volunteer@habitatncc.org or call volunteer coordinator Eric Pichalski at 302-652-0365 ext 107.

There are volunteer opportunities at the ReStores for people who are over the age of 16. There are volunteer opportunities year round in the ReStores. Tasks would include helping take in donations, sorting and cleaning items, helping customers load their items into their vehicles. If a volunteer is over the age of 14, you can participate in other volunteer activities including special events, landscaping and “Rock the Block” cleanup activities.

Support a Gold Award Girl Scout - "My name is Sabrina Clendenin, and I am a Girl Scout Ambassador located in California. I am currently working on my Gold Award and looking to fulfill the National Link requirement for the award. My project spreads the education of how to repurpose cardboard, giving it a second and longer life, into environmentally friendly cat scratch pads, benefiting both the environment and cats. I would also like to add that the education of my project is particularly useful during Girl Scout cookie season since the cookie cases are cardboard and it's hard to know what to do with all that leftover cardboard from the cases. My project provides a cat-friendly and environmentally friendly solution for all that extra cardboard."
