Like a national treasure hunt, geocaching is searching for caches that others have hidden outside. Juniors will learn how to respect nature and wildlife while learning to use a GPS to locate coordinates and stay stealthy as they search and find geocaches.
This program is an overnight in Hockessin, DE.
What to expect:
Friday - Get to know your group around the campfire as you learn the basic foundations of geocaching and being responsible in the outdoors.
Saturday - Spend the day on a real-life treasure hunt where the prize is knowledge and understanding of GPS, coordinates, and the tools to keep nature safe.
A packing list can be found HERE. Attendees will be staying in Adirondacks or Canvas Tents. Meals include - Friday snack, Saturday breakfast, and Saturday lunch.
Program attendees will complete the requirements for the Junior Geocacher and Eco Camper badges.
This program is a drop off event. Adult spots are limited. If you are an adult registering for this, please be prepared to play an active role in facilitating.
