Volunteers and Adult Members are invited to participate in Blended
Youth Mental Health First Aid Training which consists of a 2-hour self
paced online course and a 5.5 hour instructor-led training.
Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify,
understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use
challenges among children and adolescents ages 12-18.
WHAT MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID COVERS
* Common signs and symptoms
of mental health challenges in
this age group, including
anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and more.
* Common signs
and symptoms of substance use challenges.
* How to interact with
a child or adolescent in crisis.
* How to connect the youth with
help.
This course is valued at $170/learner. Thanks to a
generous donation, learners may attend at no charge.
Pre-work and live virtual session information will be sent one week
prior to the training.
