Over the past year, Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay has been guided by a force of nature. As our Interim CEO, Helen Wronski provided more than just management; she provided a masterclass in leadership. Serving as a "mini-CEO coach" to our Board and staff, Helen pushed our council to be sharper, bolder, and more intentional. To honor her transformative work as a coach, mentor, and trailblazer, the GSCB Board of Directors has established The Helen Wronski "Spark" Award.
This isn't a traditional "thank you" gift - it is a standard of excellence. Starting in 2027, one graduating high school senior from each of our three association areas will be recognized for demonstrating the same courage, character, and "spark" of leadership that Helen modeled for us every day.
In true Helen fashion, we are doing things differently. This is a Teen-Led Legacy Fund. The application process and final selections will be governed by a committee of current and former Teen Board members. While mentored by Executive Committee members and staff, the power belongs to our girls, ensuring Helen’s name remains synonymous with empowering the next generation of Girl Scout trailblazers.
Application coming soon. Class of 2027 Graduating Seniors should check back for more information.
