Whether it’s a walk to a local museum, a weekend camping trip, or a journey to another country, Girl Scout travel builds courage, confidence, and character. Girl Scouts who experience new places are empowered to take the lead in planning adventures, develop essential life skills, and explore the world around them.
Through teamwork, budgeting, goal setting, and decision-making, Girl Scouts gain independence and leadership skills, making every trip a meaningful part of their Girl Scout journey. This page has everything troops and caregivers need to plan safe, fun, and enriching travel experiences.
We encourage anyone thinking about planning a Girl Scout travel experience to review the GSCB Travel Guidelines. These guidelines accompany both GSUSA's travel guides and provide information regarding safety, required forms, travel planning, and more. These guides can be used as tools for planning a safe and successful experience. Keep in mind that Girl Scouts should participate in trip planning in a way that is appropriate for their program level.
The GSCB Travel Guidelines are available to download and complement the 200: Travel course found in gsLearn, as well as both GSUSA's travel guides.
